ShSP-32 fireclay stopper tube No. 3 is a refractory component of a steelmaking ladle stopper assembly. Tubes form a protective sleeve around the metal stopper rod, isolating it from the high-temperature environment during steel pouring.
Design features
The hollow design fits over the stopper rod. Several tubes can form a sleeve of the required length. Proper end-face joints and clearance between the internal bore and rod maintain continuous refractory protection. ShSP-32 has at least 32% aluminium oxide and a refractoriness of at least 1690 °C.
