ShA suspended-arch fireclay bricks No. 82–85 are shaped refractory products for suspended arches in furnaces and other thermal units. They form part of the refractory roof, where the brick profile must match the arch design and suspension system. This range includes two groups: No. 82–83 and No. 84–85.
These bricks are fireclay refractories made from fired refractory clay. Grade ShA specifies material properties, while the product number specifies shape and dimensions. Bricks of the same grade but different profiles are not automatically interchangeable.
Suspended bricks have specially shaped projections or recesses that interface with the supports. Their geometry must match the drawings, particularly when repairing or replacing parts of an existing arch. The exact configuration depends on the product number.
Construction and repair of refractory roofs with suspended arches, including:
For No. 82–85, check the product drawings, mounting dimensions and compatibility with adjacent bricks and supports.
Under GOST 390-2018, ShA refractoriness is at least 1690 °C. This laboratory property is not the same as operating temperature. The standard's informative annex lists a maximum application temperature of 1400 °C for ShA. Select the operating conditions according to the equipment design and manufacturer's documentation.
